Well it's Friday afternoon and we are hoping the weather will allow us to pull our tractors tomorrow at Pageland. This will be our second attempt to help out the Pageland Rescue Squad with a financial situation. Seems some one wanted their money more than they did! Bad Business!!! Last week we got a torrential rain shortly after we got started, had a great crowd too. Most said they would try to return tomorrow but you never really know.
Tractor pulling has got to be a disease! Once you try it, it becomes addictive very quickly. I have been fortunate enough to have a pretty good "baby" tractor as a good friend calls it. I haven't had to spent a fortune in order to have a blast and be somewhat successful with it.
If you read this and want to see another check out "A Handful of Tools and a Hammer".

Rained out in Pageland
Well we attempted to host a benefit pull for the Pageland Rescue Squad on Saturday. All went well untill about the third class we pulled...The bottom fell out and it rained about 2 inches in an hour or so. Needless to say the pull was over at that point. We will be trying again this Saturday at 4:00 to get it done. Hopfully the pullers will come back, we had a great group there and it was a real pleasure to see that many tractors and trucks show up. I will fill you in on the pull late.

Hey Ya'll
Well this is my first attempt at "blogging".
A good friend of mine has a blog and I thought "why not". One of my favorite things in this world is tractor pulling, antique tractors to be exact. I got started in this sport about 9 years ago with one of my friends, Johnny. I purchased my tractor, an Allis Chalmers WD built in 1950 for a few hundred dollars. an thus began a host of new friendships and a ton of fun. In future posts I will high light some of the real people I have met and call friends today.
I am the Fire Chief at our local Fire Department in Lesslie, SC. I have been a member for 43 years. I was Assistant Chief for 20 years until my dear friend and Chief, Jerry Williams, retired.
I will go for now but will return from time to time to catch up.
